Said and done, the tournament director is now doing the mathematics and will present them to the players shortly. No deal has yet been agreed upon, but the players will get to see the numbers and thereafter make a decision.

It should be mentioned however that play will continue no matter what, as the $1,500 Cape Town package can’t be included in a deal.

After some earlier betting, action was on Virginia Mihaela Grasu who went all in for 262,000 from the Big Blind. It was then on Nikita Voroncovs, who, seated in the Hi-jack, re-jammed for 645,000. Then, Artur Craciun proceeded to also go all in for 590,000.

The decision was then on Danny Ball, who took his time before folding.

    Nikita Voroncovs: 88

On a 8936 board with roughly 150,000 in the middle, Martyn Frey bet – are you sitting down? – 15,000.

“I didn’t mean to do that”, Frey uttered in chock to the dealer. “What happens now?”, he continued as the dealer informed him that his bet would be changed to the minimum amount of 16,000. We can only imagine the confusion John Holmes went through as he made the call.

On the river Q, Frey now bet 75,000 prior to taking a bit of his baked potato-dish. Holmes ultimately made the call.

“Sixes”, Frey announced as he turned over 66. Holmes confirmed Frey’s set was good as he mucked his hand.

    Mark Stokes: A4
    Andreas Constantinou: JJ

Constantinou added to his stack as Stokes couldn’t have been too stoked hitting the rail.

Zheng turned over 108 for two-pair, which was enough, seeing as McDonald mucked.

Allen turned over AQ for the nut flush and took a bite of Wang’s stack.

Allen was first to act and checked the 10JJ flop. Wang bet 15,000 and received two calls.

The turn brought the 6, and all players now checked. On the river 2, Allen bet 80,000. Wang folded prior to Koplin making the call.

  • The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship: Day 1a Recap

The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship Nottingham.
The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship Nottingham. Photo: Jemma Grice/Dusk Till Dawn

The tables were set at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham, and it was time for poker history to be written. The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship had arrived at 17:00 local time, and it was time for Day 1a of the £280 Main Event.

It’s no secret Hendon Mob events (or THMC, for short) have their unique charm. By cashing in a THMC event, players will get a certain flag symbol on Hendon Mob that can’t be acquired any other way. With this information, it couldn’t come as a surprise that 87 entries were made in Day 1a. It should also be mentioned that the £500 Luxon Pay High Roller event attracted over 100 players, some of which we’ll presumably see tomorrow during Day 1b of the Main Event.

    An Unmatched Atmosphere

Dusk Till Dawn is, without a doubt, the perfect venue to host THMC. The casino offers unparalleled support, first-class service, and a great overall atmosphere. Day 1a was no exception to this, on the contrary, England’s qualifying match for the Soccer World Championships against Albania brought a little extra spice to the tournament area. There’s no doubt there were some friendly banter and shenanigans going on around the tables.

    Timetheos Timotheou.
Timetheos Timotheou. Photo: Jemma Grice/Dusk Till Dawn

With 100,000 in starting stack and 30-minute levels, there were opportunities to play some serious poker. Under the first two hours, chips traded owners here and there and after a while, it was Timotheos Timotheou who was the player to beat. For the most part of the tournament, Timotheou was a top-five stack, even though he lost the occasional pot here and there.

    Plater’s Silver Platter

As the tournament progressed, more players started accumulating mountains of chips. One of them was Kieran Platter, who began his ascendancy when he rivered a flush against big-stacked Colin Paddington. As he and a couple more players continued to build smaller empires, things weren’t looking as bright for the awe-inspiring Timotheou, who found himself on the wrong side of a brutal cooler, which started his descent. As the tournament reached its final two tables, Timotheou was no longer part of the field.

    Kieran Plater.
Kieran Plater. Photo: Jemma Grice/Dusk Till Dawn

However, that wasn’t the case for Plater, who kept winning big hands. He eliminated Jonathan Hewston, and when the bubble stage of the tournament was reached, Plater used his big stack to put pressure. when all was said and done, he ended Day 1a as the chip leader.

They’re all already guaranteed a minimum cash, and they’ll be accompanied by those who advance from Day 1b and 1c, which will both be played tomorrow, Saturday 22.

The poker.pro team will follow all the action from Day 1b while also glancing at the 1c tables now and then. We hope you’ve enjoyed today’s coverage and are excited to see you again tomorrow.

    Stephen Hogg: AK
    Gintautas Razma: AJ

Things were looking bright for Hogg, but the board spelled out 8K7JQ. The nut flush gave Razma the win and Hogg was eliminated from the tournament.

    Sean Randall: QQ
    Timetheos Timotheou: AA

Things looked good for Timotheou on the 10310 flop. His equity grew with the J turn. “Good luck, everyone”, Randall announced as he stood up from his chair. However, the Q landed on the river, giving him the best hand and taking a huge chunk out of the Timotheou stack.

Crazy scenes on Table 1 when the board read Q8AJ2. Scott Boyle was all in, and Kieran Plater was Heads Up against Colin Paddington.

Paddington checked the completed board, telling Plater “You need to pull the trigger”. Plater listened and went all in for 216,500. Paddington called instantly.

    Scott Boyle: KQ
    Kieran Plater: J9
    Colin Paddington: A4

With his flush, Plater eliminated Boyle and took a hefty chunk out of Paddington’s stack.

Ian Plater raised from the Lo-jack to 12,000. He was called by Alan Stearn from the Cut-off, Timotheos Timotheou from the Button, and Foad Sattar Zadeh decided to call from the Big Blind as well.

The flop came 4107 and after Zadeh had checked, Plater bet 12,000. Stearn folded, Timotheou called and Zadeh mucked.

On the turn 6, Plater bet 25,000. Timotheou asked how much he had left, and after receiving a count, he raised to 55,000. Plater wasted little-to-no time going all in for 134,500, and Timotheou made the call in a heartbeat.

    Ian Plater: 1010
    Timotheos Timotheou: 66

The flop came 9210, and it was checked to Craciun, who repeated his 8,000 bet. Wilson got out of the way before Janin called.

Both players checked the K turn. On the river 3, Janin led out for 22,000, and Carciun made the call rather quickly.

Rowlinson looked both disgusted and suspicious. He threw in not one, but two timebank chips contemplating a call. “Will you show if I fold?” he asked Thorpe, who accepted the request.

Eventually, Rowlinson announced he’s folding and Thorpe, being a man of his word, revealed his 76. “Let me see the river”, Rowlinson asked the dealer as he showed his dead J8. The dealer denied the rabbit hunt; we’ll never know if the flush and/or straight would have hit, but one thing’s for sure: the two lads are having a blast at the table.

Action was now on big-stacked Timotheos Timotheou in the Big Blind, who re-shoved for roughly 480,000. Hu went out of the way and the players in the blinds turned over their cards:

    Luis Pereira: 32
    Timotheos Timotheou: AK

The two lowest cards in the deck versus the two highest. The flop K54 brought all kinds of hope for Pereira, and as the final product wasK546A, he doubled up.

    Tarajmeer Kakar: KQ
    Phillip Harrington: 99

Things were looking bright for Harrington to eliminate Kakar all the way up to the river, as the completed board spelled out 7A85Q. The dealer pushed the chips the way of Kakar, and the two gentlemen now have similar stacks.

The board read 695K on Table 4, with 20,000 in the middle. Xiantong Li checked it over to Mateusz Perkowski who bet 8,000. Li then decided to raise to 16,000. This concerned Perkowski, as he threw in a 30-second time bank chip, contemplating his decision. Eventually, he made the call.

On the river Q, Li now was the one buying 30 seconds extra before firing a hefty 78,000 bet. As Perkowski leaned back in his chair thinking the hand over, a big “Woah!” roared in Dusk Till Dawn, as suspense grew in the England-Albania soccer game.

Eventually, Perkowski folded, Li’s stack grew, and England went to half-time, leading Albania one to nothing.

It’s a big day in Nottingham and Dusk Till Dawn. 12:00 lokal time, Day 1b of the £280 THMC Main Event will set afoot, and there’s no doubt there’ll be some big action today.

Yesterday, Day 1a saw 13 players bagging their chips for Day 2. Similar numbers from Day 1b are to be expected, and Day 1c (which starts today at 17:00) may be even bigger. Make no mistake about it; we’re playing a very prestigious tournament here, folks.

Play lasted roughly 10 years yesterday, and if that’s the case today as well, we can assume Day 1b will end around 22:00. It should be mentioned, though, that we’re playing down to 15 %; the same is the case with Day 1c, of course.

Every player starts with 100,000 in chips. The structure is as follows:

Otherwise, enjoy the great hospitality and comfort that Dusk Till Dawn offers. Apart from the two Main Event flights, there’s also the £60 Monster Stack starting at 17:30.

Good luck to all the players, and make sure to tune in to the live blog here at poker.pro!

  • Massive pot for Gardner

    Level 3:10,000/20,000 (20,000)
    Entries:47/440
    Prizes:£105,600

We’ve just witnessed one of the biggest pots of the tournament so far.

There was roughly 650,000 in the middle on a 6K10Q board. Alessandro Collaro bet 325,000, prior to Gareth Gardner going all in for 1,270,000. After receiving the count, Collaro made the call.

    Gareth Gardner: 65
    Alessandro Collaro: KQ

Collaro was ahead, and he would have probably been the tournament chip leader hadn’t it been for the 4 river. Gardner now breaks the two million barrier and is sitting with a very healthy stack as the first break of the day approaches.

    Gareth Gardner: 2,500,000
    Alessandro Collaro: 750,000

    Prizes:£105,600

James Moult found himself all in against Ian Plater, with the latter one being the player at risk.

    James Moult: AK
    Ian Plater: A8

The 103J brought a scare for Moult, but the full board spelled 103J74 and Plater’s Main Event adventure came to an end.

    Ian Plater: 0

    Entries:50/440

After some earlier betting, action was on Virginia Mihaela Grasu who went all in for 262,000 from the Big Blind. It was then on Nikita Voroncovs, who, seated in the Hi-jack, re-jammed for 645,000. Then, Artur Craciun proceeded to also go all in for 590,000.

The decision was then on Danny Ball, who took his time before folding.

    Virginia Mihaela Grasu: AJ
    Nikita Voroncovs: 88
    Artur Craciun: QQ

As the board spelled out KA2109, no player busted, but there were some serious swings in the stack sizes. After the dealer had calculated everything, Danny Ball revealed he folded AQ.

    Virginia Mihaela Gasu: 810,000
    Artur Craciun: 645,000
    Nikita Voroncovs: 55,000

    Entries:56/440
    Prizes:£105,600

    Martyn Frey: 1,200,000
    John Holmes: 390,000

The board read 486JQ with 500,000 in the middle. Mark Stokes was all in, and Andreas Constantinou battled in a side pot against Nikita Voroncovs. On the river, Constantinou bet 225,000 which was enough to scare Voroncovs away.

    Mark Stokes: A4
    Andreas Constantinou: JJ

Constantinou added to his stack as Stokes couldn’t have been too stoked hitting the rail.

    Andreas Constantinou: 1,500,000
    Mark Stokes: 0

  • Zheng has two Millions

    Level 1:6,000/12,000 (12,000)
    Entries:61/440
    Prizes:£105,600

The board read 81062A with roughly 300,000 in the middle. It was a Blind VS Blind-battle between Qing Zheng and Sean McDonald and Zheng fired a hefty 225,000 bet. After a minute’s consideration, McDonald called.

Zheng turned over 108 for two-pair, which was enough, seeing as McDonald mucked.

    Qing Zheng: 2,000,000
    Sean McDonald: 590,000

  • Nuts

    Level 1:6,000/12,000 (12,000)
    Entries:61/440
    Prizes:£105,600

Jack Allen raised to 25,000 from UTG+1. Beihao Wang (Lo-jack), Sanjay Patel (Small Blind), and David Benoit Janin (Big Blind) all called.

Action was checked to Wang on the 825 flop who bet 26,000. Allen was the sole caller which brought the K on the turn. Both players checked and the board completed with the 8 on the river. Allen now bet 56,000 and Wang made the call.

Allen turned over AQ for the nut flush and took a bite of Wang’s stack.

    Beihao Wang: 870,000
    Jack Allen: 830,000

  • Sunday Flush

    Prizes:£105,600

Beihao Wang opened to 25,000 UTG and was called by Piotr Koplin (Lo-jack) and Jack Allen (Big Blind).

Allen was first to act and checked the 10JJ flop. Wang bet 15,000 and received two calls.

The turn brought the 6, and all players now checked. On the river 2, Allen bet 80,000. Wang folded prior to Koplin making the call.

    Jack Allen: 98
    Piotr Koplin: 43

The baby flush beat the busted straight draw and Koplin was awarded the pot.

    Jack Allen: 800,000
    Piotr Koplin: 730,000
