From the Hi-jack, Andrew Hanak opened to 1,200. Gareth Gardner had just sat down at the table and was immediately the Big Blind, which he elected to defend.

The action went check-check on the 593 flop. Gardner fired 1,100 on the 8 turn, and Hanak decided to call.

On the river 3, Gardner sized up to 7,500 prior to Hanak raising to 20,000. Gardner went deep into the tank and used up three of his five timebank chips on the decision. Eventually, he did make the call.

Hanak turned over Q7 for the flopped flush as the dealer pushed the chips his way.

    Andrew Hanak: 140,000
    Gareth Gardner: 75,000

Marius Olteanu opened to 1,200 from the Hi-jack. Sarah Chan decided to call from the Cut-off, and Andrew Storey defended his Big Blind. All three players checked the J9J flop. On the turn 5, Storey bet 1,200 and was called by both his opponents.

Storey fired again on the 8 river, this time 2,500. No callers, and Storey collected his winnings.

Play has begun in Day 1b of the £280 THMC Main Event. 51 players from the get-go is a promising number, and big fields are expected both in Day 1b and 1c.

It’s a big day in Nottingham and Dusk Till Dawn. 12:00 lokal time, Day 1b of the £280 THMC Main Event will set afoot, and there’s no doubt there’ll be some big action today.

Yesterday, Day 1a saw 13 players bagging their chips for Day 2. Similar numbers from Day 1b are to be expected, and Day 1c (which starts today at 17:00) may be even bigger. Make no mistake about it; we’re playing a very prestigious tournament here, folks.

Play lasted roughly 10 years yesterday, and if that’s the case today as well, we can assume Day 1b will end around 22:00. It should be mentioned, though, that we’re playing down to 15 %; the same is the case with Day 1c, of course.

Every player starts with 100,000 in chips. The structure is as follows:

It was Kieran Plater who ended Day 1a as the chip leader with 1,148,000. It’ll be exciting to see if an even bigger stack can advance from Day 1b and/or 1c.

Otherwise, enjoy the great hospitality and comfort that Dusk Till Dawn offers. Apart from the two Main Event flights, there’s also the £60 Monster Stack starting at 17:30.

Good luck to all the players, and make sure to tune in to the live blog here at poker.pro!

  • The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship: Day 1a Recap

The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship Nottingham.

The tables were set at the Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham, and it was time for poker history to be written. The 2025 Hendon Mob Championship had arrived at 17:00 local time, and it was time for Day 1a of the £280 Main Event.

It’s no secret Hendon Mob events (or THMC, for short) have their unique charm. By cashing in a THMC event, players will get a certain flag symbol on Hendon Mob that can’t be acquired any other way. With this information, it couldn’t come as a surprise that 87 entries were made in Day 1a. It should also be mentioned that the £500 Luxon Pay High Roller event attracted over 100 players, some of which we’ll presumably see tomorrow during Day 1b of the Main Event.

    An Unmatched Atmosphere

Dusk Till Dawn is, without a doubt, the perfect venue to host THMC. The casino offers unparalleled support, first-class service, and a great overall atmosphere. Day 1a was no exception to this, on the contrary, England’s qualifying match for the Soccer World Championships against Albania brought a little extra spice to the tournament area. There’s no doubt there were some friendly banter and shenanigans going on around the tables.

    Timetheos Timotheou.

With 100,000 in starting stack and 30-minute levels, there were opportunities to play some serious poker. Under the first two hours, chips traded owners here and there and after a while, it was Timotheos Timotheou who was the player to beat. For the most part of the tournament, Timotheou was a top-five stack, even though he lost the occasional pot here and there.

    Plater’s Silver Platter

As the tournament progressed, more players started accumulating mountains of chips. One of them was Kieran Platter, who began his ascendancy when he rivered a flush against big-stacked Colin Paddington. As he and a couple more players continued to build smaller empires, things weren’t looking as bright for the awe-inspiring Timotheou, who found himself on the wrong side of a brutal cooler, which started his descent. As the tournament reached its final two tables, Timotheou was no longer part of the field.

    Kieran Plater.

However, that wasn’t the case for Plater, who kept winning big hands. He eliminated Jonathan Hewston, and when the bubble stage of the tournament was reached, Plater used his big stack to put pressure. when all was said and done, he ended Day 1a as the chip leader.

They’re all already guaranteed a minimum cash, and they’ll be accompanied by those who advance from Day 1b and 1c, which will both be played tomorrow, Saturday 22.

The poker.pro team will follow all the action from Day 1b while also glancing at the 1c tables now and then. We hope you’ve enjoyed today’s coverage and are excited to see you again tomorrow.

    Gintautas Razma: A10

Wozniak had Razma exactly where he wanted him, but the board 33Q2A had other plans. An absolute brutal river card sent Wozniak to the rail, and the remaining 14 players are now on the bubble.

    Kieran Plater: A9
    Jonathan Hewston: 109

No ten for Hewston on the 7482K runout, and he busted in place 17. Seconds before him, Alastair Cook also was eliminated.

Paul Noble seems to be the current chipleader, playing roughly 1,250,000.

On 347, Noble bet 60,000 and Razma elected to call. The turn came the 9 and Noble now went all in for 325,000. Razma didn’t look too pleased but eventually, he made the call.

Things looked good for Timotheou on the 10310 flop. His equity grew with the J turn. “Good luck, everyone”, Randall announced as he stood up from his chair. However, the Q landed on the river, giving him the best hand and taking a huge chunk out of the Timotheou stack.

Rowlinson looked both disgusted and suspicious. He threw in not one, but two timebank chips contemplating a call. “Will you show if I fold?” he asked Thorpe, who accepted the request.

Eventually, Rowlinson announced he’s folding and Thorpe, being a man of his word, revealed his 76. “Let me see the river”, Rowlinson asked the dealer as he showed his dead J8. • Li’s Stack is Getting Impressive

    Level 7:1,000/2,000 (2,000)
    Entries:55/78
    Prizes:£100,000 GTD

The board read 695K on Table 4, with 20,000 in the middle. Xiantong Li checked it over to Mateusz Perkowski who bet 8,000. Li then decided to raise to 16,000. This concerned Perkowski, as he threw in a 30-second time bank chip, contemplating his decision. Eventually, he made the call.

On the river Q, Li now was the one buying 30 seconds extra before firing a hefty 78,000 bet. As Perkowski leaned back in his chair thinking the hand over, a big “Woah!” roared in Dusk Till Dawn, as suspense grew in the England-Albania soccer game.

Eventually, Perkowski folded, Li’s stack grew, and England went to half-time, leading Albania one to nothing.

    Xiantong Li: 295,000
    Mateusz Perkowski: 60,000

As 58 players are currently battling it out in Day 1a of the £280 Main Event, the £500 Luxon Pay High Roller has reached Level 8, which is the last level before late registration is closed. Just as is the case for the Main Event, 58 players are currently in the High Roller.

Not only are the players fighting for a High Roller title and a big payout, but there are also four $4,000 packages added, which can be used for the 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party. The “MPP” will be played in Cyprus, May 3-13.

Shane Riley limped from UTG and was called by Ian Plater (Cut-off), Luis Pereira (Small Blind), and Timotheos Timotheou (Big Blind).

It was checked around on the 68K flop. On the turn 4, it was checked to Plater who bet 6,000. Pereira was the sole caller.

Plater fired 6,000 on the river A after Pereira had checked. Pereira made the call rather swift. Plater turned over A3 and Pereira mucked his hand.

    Ian Plater: 175,000
    Luis Pereira: 75,000

From UTG+1, Linton Reid opened to 4,000 and got called by Nicholas Round (Small Blind) and Danny Ball (Big Blind).

On the K108 flop, Round was first to act and bet 10,000. Ball wasted little time before going all in for 75,900, and Reid re-shoved for roughly 140,000. Round rounded things up and the two players all in revealed their holdings.

    Danny Ball: 88
    Linton Reid: AA

No help for Reid as the board ran out K1087Q; his aces had been cracked and Ball doubled up.

    Danny Ball: 151,800

  • Jackpot for Probyn

    Level 4:500/1,000 (1,000)
    Entries:55/64
    Prizes:£16,000

Marius Olteanu opened to 3,000 UTG, and right to the left of him, Andrew Probyn raised to 7,000. Action was folded back to Olteanu who made the call.

On the flop JA10, Olteanu check-called a 11,000 bet from Probyn. Olteanu checked again on the 7 turn, and Probyn now went all in for 75,000 effective. Olteanu sighed before making the call.

    Andrew Probyn: AA
    Marius Olteanu: AJ

The 4 river was dealt as a formality; a bad beat for Olteanu, which saw his tournament life coming to an end as Probyn’s stack grew.

    Andrew Probyn: 200,000
    Marius Olteanu: 0

The board read A710 on Table 12 when Foad Sattar Zadeh bet 2,500 into the pot consisting of roughly 8,000. He was called by Jamie Moore as well as David Benoit Janin.

The 4 came on the turn and Zadeh continued his aggression, now betting 7,200. Moore and Janin both made the call and the river was the 6.

Zadeh now slowed down, prior to Moore betting 16,000. Janin wasted little time raising to 50,000. Zadeh took his 30 seconds on the shot clock before folding, before Moore made the call.

    David Benoit Janin: K3
    Jamie Moore: J8

A large pot went the way of Janin who’s off to a good start.

    David Benoit Janin: 160,000
