Liv Boeree has made a tremendous achievement for any poker player, finishing fourth in the WSOP Paradise $25,000 Super Main Event for $2,800,000. But there was something even more significant in this win: It was the biggest cash ever won by a female poker player. Liv’s previous most significant win came in 2010 when she won the EPT €5,300 No Limit Hold’em—Main Event for $1,698,300.

This win also moved Liv from ninth place ($3,871,790) on the Women’s All-Time Money list to fourth place, overtaking Maria Ho. Liv has made $6,671,790 in total live earnings and is only behind Vanessa Selbst, Kristen Foxen, and Kathy Liebert.

Before the start of the tournament, Liv promised she would donate 20 percent ($1,334,358) of her winnings to a charity supporting animals, and she confirmed after her win that she would do it.

When asked about her win and being ranked fourth on Women’s All-Time Money list, Liv told a Poker.org reporter: “Wow! Okay, it’s a shit ton of money. I don’t know what people think, and I don’t want to talk about money, but that’s an insane amount of money for me.”

The reporter also asked her how she was going to spend her money, and Liv said, “Actually, I know what I’m going to do. Before this tournament started, I said to myself, I’m going to pledge 20% of whatever I win to help get rid of factory farming or at least improve the conditions for animals on factory farms because what’s going on there is literally the worst thing on earth. I won’t get into it.”

“I haven’t figured out exactly how and what the best charities are yet, but luckily, I know people who know how to do that,” Liv added.

Justin Bonomo Finished Seventh and Sent a Message

After yesterday’s controversy about Bonomo wearing a scarf to express his support for Palestine and threats of getting banned, Bonomo finished in seventh place for $1,300,000. This also moved him a step closer to the All-Time Money List’s first place, which Bryn Kenney holds.

After his elimination, Bonomo just said and sent a quick message: “Good luck, everyone, free Palestine.”
