Everything You Need to Know About the 2023 WSOP Paradise Festival

As the year draws to a close, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) continues to dazzle the poker world, not only with its series in Vegas, WSOP Europe, and online events on WSOP.com and GGPoker, but now with the inaugural 2023 WSOP Paradise Festival. Set to commence from December 3 to 14, the event promises an eye-popping total prize pool of $50,000,000.

The Atlantis in the Bahamas, known for its luxurious amenities and stunning ocean views, will host this exciting series. This year, 15 coveted WSOP bracelets will be up for grabs at this iconic venue.

Qualify online in GGPoker and Betkings

GGPoker has committed to making this event extraordinary by pledging to send at least 1000 players to the Bahamas for what can only be described as a dream vacation. Qualifying packages are still up for grabs, including a $5,000 buy-in for the main event, a 10-night stay at the Atlantis, and daily lunch buffet.

Building upon the record-breaking series in Vegas, the WSOP Paradise aims to set new benchmarks. Ty Stewart, WSOP’s SVP & Executive Director, emphasized the unique allure of this event: “We have the strongest online partner in the world, and they are set to send a record number of qualifiers to a live tournament. Atlantis also has a great legacy in poker, and we believe this combination of partners can deliver poker’s most powerful new franchise for years to come. Many players say summer in Vegas is the best time of year. We hope that will only be rivaled by winter in paradise.”

WSOP Paradise Schedule

Echoing the diverse range of events like the Vegas series, WSOP Paradise will offer tournaments for every level of buy-in, from $800 for the popular Flip&Go Event to $100,000 for the Ultra High Roller. The event lineup also includes three Pot Limit Omaha events, catering to a variety of poker enthusiasts.

Anticipation is high as WSOP has announced that many familiar faces, including WSOP champions Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jamie Gold, Daniel Weinman, chess professional Alexandra Botez, and former sports superstars Sergio Agüero and Tony Parker, will participate in the series.

“With big guarantees, tons of online qualifiers, extra cash bonuses and now traditional television coverage, we’re ready to welcome the Poker World to one of the most beautiful places in the world,” continued Ty Stewart. “But for those who can’t take a poker vacation to the Bahamas, we’re happy to send a bit of Paradise back home.”

Highlights of the series

The Main Event (December 9 – 14): The centerpiece of the series is the Main Event with a $5,000 buy-in and a massive $15,000,000 GTD. Starting with four Day 1 flights on December 9, the first-ever WSOP Paradise champion will be crowned on December 14.

Mystery Millions (December 3-6): Kicking off the festival is the $1,650 Mystery Millions with a $5,000,000 GTD.

Millionaire Maker in Paradise (December 4): This unique OnLive tournament combines online and live play, offering a substantial million-dollar prize to the winner.

High-Roller Events: Those with deeper pockets will have ample opportunities with events like the $25,000 GGMillion$ High Rollers Championship, $25,000 High Roller Pot Limit Omaha, and the $100,000 Ultra High Roller event.

Battle for the players

Amidst this, the 2023 WSOP Paradise faces competition from the WPT World Championship in Wynn Las Vegas and EPT Prague, both occurring concurrently. This rivalry between major poker festivals is a boon for players, offering an array of choices and driving the events to offer more to attract participants. For instance, the WPT World Championship boosted its prize pool from $15 to $40 million, while the WSOP Paradise set a generous $15,000,000 GTD for their Main Event. EPT Prague, too, remains a highly anticipated stop in the poker calendar.

The 2023 WSOP Paradise Festival in the Bahamas is more than just a poker series; it’s a testament to the growing global appeal of poker, offering players a blend of luxurious travel and high-stakes competition. With its stunning venue, wide range of events, and the promise of record participation, the festival is all set to become a notable chapter in the history of the World Series of Poker.
