Poker streamer Jordan Banfield celebrated on Thursday evening at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino as he found his first taste of WSOP gold by winning Event #3: C$400 NLH Black Chip Bounty for C$16,983 plus bounties on the second day of the 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary, which boasts a whopping 17 WSOP Circuit gold ring events from January 8-20, 2025.
Antoine Saddleback won his first WSOP gold ring in this event the last time it was hosted at Deerfoot in August 2024 for C$7,386 plus bounties. While he was unable to make it into the money this time, Saddleback managed to win a second ring on the opening day of the 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary for C$28,680 on Wednesday’s festival opening day.
Meanwhile, Banfield, who streams at WPT Global, entered the final table in third place as one of the three chip millionaires and was a significant underdog when facing off against Daniel Bourdages to start the heads-up action before coming back to earn the title. After the players battled for some time, Banfield was the beneficiary of a massive double-up with ace-queen against king-ten to leave Bourdages on fumes. Bourdages managed to double his short stack once, but it was all over soon after that, with Banfield adding another poker accolade.
Event #3: C$400 NLH Black Chip Bounty attracted a banner field of 363 entries to create a C$119,790 prize pool, including C$83,490 in prizes and C$36,300 in bounties. The top 55 players were slated to earn at least a $561 min-cash. However, 56 players made the money after Kyle Ivanich and Devon Morgan both hit the rail on the bubble to split the min-cash to earn at least some of their C$400 buy-in back.
