The World Poker Tour (WPT) is heading back to Jeju, South Korea, for the second WPT Korea event of the year, held at the renowned Landing Casino. The WPT stop will be part of a big Jeju Poker Festival, where three prominent tournament series will come together to create a premier poker experience. Kicking off the action, the WPT Korea series will run from November 15 to 22, followed by the Korea Poker Cup from November 21 to 26, and finishing with the Red Dragon Poker Tour from November 26 to December 1.
“Jeju Island is a sensational location and has become a popular stop on the WPT schedule,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Thanks to our partners at Landing Casino and Red Dragon who have spearheaded the planning to bring WPT Korea back for a second time this season.”
The highlight of WPT Korea will undoubtedly be the Championship event, featuring a buy-in of KRW 2.5 million (approx. $1,860) and a guaranteed prize pool of KRW 1.68 billion (approx. $1.25 million). The event will open with three starting flights from November 16 to 18, leading into four more days of intense competition when a new champion will join the WPT’s Champions Club.

In 2023, the WPT’s return to South Korea was met with resounding success, as the Main Event drew a record-breaking 757 entries, with Yin Tao capturing the title and $232,667 in prize money. This April, the Main Event set a new attendance benchmark with an impressive 1,065 entries. Mate Hanusi, a qualifier from Hungary, came out on top, securing a payday of $320,000.
The WPT’s growing popularity in South Korea has set high expectations for the upcoming event. “Poker tours in Korea are on a steady increase, and the events held at Jeju Shinhwa World with outstanding partners such as WPT add to the excitement and growth of poker in the region,” explained Jenny Lim, Chief Operating Officer at Landing Casino.
Set on a stunning Jeju Island, players are in for a real poker treat that promises non-stop action, with three premier festivals taking place back-to-back-to-back in this two-week poker extravaganza.
