The World Poker Tour (WPT) stage is set for a dramatic conclusion to the 2024 WPT Choctaw Championship as the action now moves to Las Vegas for the televised final table on May 30. After three days of competition from May 3 to 6 at the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, only six contenders remain from a field of 603 entries and in the hunt for the prestigious title, the top prize of $361,600, which includes a $10,400 seat to the 2024 WPT World Championship, and an engraving on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.

Final Six Players Preview
Leading the pack is 38-year-old James Mackey, who will enter the final table with an 84 big blinds stack. Mackey certainly knows how to close the WPT final table, as he previously won this very event in 2016, earning $666,758. Mackey also had another final table in this building, finishing sixth in the 2022 event.
Close on his heels is Adam Hendrix, the youngest player at the table at 31 years of age. Holding 70 big blinds himself, Hendrix will be the biggest threat to Mackey not just because of his stack but also because of his experience in high-stakes tournaments, particularly those under the PokerGO umbrella, where he has claimed four titles already on his way to over $6.2 million in live tournament earnings.
While others might sport inferior stacks, they are all still formidable opponents with multiple WPT championships or other major titles. Eric Afriat, a three-time WPT champion, boasts titles from WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in 2014 for $1,081,184, WPT Borgata in 2018 for $651,928, and his latest win came in 2020 at the WPT Fallsview for $383,539.
The table short-stack is seasoned player Erick Lindgren, a two-time WPT champion himself. Though, both of his victories have grown a beard already since they were achieved two decades ago. Lindgren was named a WPT Player of the Year for Season 2.
Also at the table will be Sebastien Aube, a Canadian poker player who won a WSOP Bracelet in 2022 and famously snagged a $100,000 Mystery Bounty at last year’s PCA Mystery Bounty event. Danny Marx will be a player to watch as he had quite some success at the Choctaw Casino & Resort in the past, where he won his first-ever coveted WSOP Circuit ring in 2022 and made a deep run with a final table again last year. With his third final table, can his run good translate to Vegas in front of WPT cameras?
