The World Poker Tour Australia is riding a wave of anticipation right now, with the A$8,000 Main Event final table slated to play out tomorrow. A whopping prize of A$854,890 ($550,267) awaits the champion.

Yet, amidst the bustling action, the A$2,000 Mini Main Event has already concluded. Popular YouTuber and WPT Global ambassador Ethan “Rampage” Yau emerged as the winner, adding another prestigious title to his ever-growing poker resume.

After leading the pack post Day 1A of the Main Event, Ethan found himself on shaky ground as he lost half his stack within the first quarter hour of Day 2. Despite grinding diligently to recover lost chips, his tournament life in the Main Event ended before he could reach the money spots.

After the elimination, he hopped into the A$2,000 Mini Main Event and ultimately clinched victory among the 416-entry field, pocketing a hefty A$148,910 ($95,678) first-place prize.

This is Rampage’s fourth biggest cash of his career, trailing the High Roller win at the WPT World Championship, where he struck gold with $894,240, the 2022 Poker Masters victory, and the 2021 MSPT Las Vegas title. Ethan now has over $2.1 million in live tournament winnings.
