Final Table Action

Coming into the final table, Daniel Dvoress was the chip leader with 65 big blinds, followed by Sinan Unlu with 64 big blinds. The shortest stack was Alex Foxen, with 15 big blinds.

The first one to be eliminated was Michael Moncek after he shoved A7 on Dvoress’s open and got isolated by Benjamin Heath, who had JJ and Dvoress folded. The board ran 7Q85Q, and Moncek was out in ninth place for $1,200,000.

The only woman at the final table was the next to leave after she shoved against Dvoress’s open with KQ, and Dvoress called with AK, putting Sosia Jiang in a bad spot. The board ran low with no queens and offered no help to Jiang. She was eliminated in eighth place for $1,605,000.

Aleksejs Ponakovs was the next victim of Dvoress after he pushed all-in from SB and got called from BB. Ponakovs was dominated, holding 98 against Dvoress’s A8. The board ran 42477, and Ponakovs was out in seventh place for $2,140,000.

Alex Foxen opened from CO, committing more than two-thirds of his stack, and got called by Dvoress in SB. The flop came 2A5. Dvoress led, putting Foxen all-in. After using a few time banks, Foxen made the call, only to find out he was in a horrible spot with 77 against A8. The turn came J, and the river was 5. Foxen was out in sixth place for $2,795,000.

Lococo opened from SB with 107, and Elias Talvitie called in the big blind with KJ. The flop came 846, Lococo c-bet, and Talvitie called. The turn was K, Lococo barreled again, and Talvitie called once again. The river was 9 turning tables and giving Lococo the best hand. Lococo opened from CO with JJ, Dvoress shoved from SB with 22, and Lococo snap-called. The board ran KJ77Q, and Dvoress was almost drawing dead already on the flop and didn’t improve on the turn. Dvoress was eliminated in fourth place for $4,390,000.

Lococo continued with the eliminations, and Sinan Unlu was his next victim after he shoved with J5 against Lococo’s CO open. Lococo called holding K6 and won with K-high as the board missed both players. Unlu was out in third place for $5,304,000.

The Heads-Up

Lococo came into the heads-up as close to the 7:1 chip leader and finished the job rapidly. The final hand happened when Lococo shoved with K2 and got called by Heath with AK. The board ran 82Q78, and the pair of deuces were good for $12,070,000 for Lococo. Ben Heath was eliminated in second place for $8,160,000.
