Teo Sanchez Dominates Final Table for NLH/PLO Mix Win at 2025 Spring Super Stack

Teo Sanchez, winner of the NLH/PLO Mix

There were two games on Tuesday’s schedule at the 2025 Deerfoot Inn & Casino Spring Super Stack. The second multi-day event of the series, the $560 Megastack, played its Day 1a with 103 entries, while across the Chrome room, the NLH/PLO Mix single-day event was going on.

The opening flight of the Megastack proved to be a bit of a marathon, running into Level 18, and the side game threatened to finish before they bagged the Megastack. It didn’t quite work out that way, but the Half & Half was already down to heads-up before the final hand was dealt in Event #10.

It was a dominating performance for Teo Sanchez tonight on the final table of the NLH/PLO Mix game. He had the big stack from seven-handed all the way down to the win and was the player who sent everyone home along that journey.

Sanchez is a familiar face here at Deerfoot Inn & Casino, and as I was chatting with him after the win, he mentioned that this is also his favorite game. He clearly has skills at the community board games, regardless of the number of cards he’s dealt, though he also mentioned he was more devoted to cash poker than tournaments.

That may well change after the dominating performance tonight brought him his first tournament win on the live felt. He was seventh in a higher buy-in version of this game during last May’s WSOP-C here at Deerfoot, his second-best result prior to this one, after a 5th place in a 2023 6-Max on the Pure Poker Tour.

Sanchez busted every player at the table from seventh down to the win tonight, doing all the work himself, and watching the aggressive way he played the big stack, it was clear he was on a sunrun tonight. His relentless aggression picked up multiple pots by forcing folds from ICM-aware opponents, but he was always dialed in enough to know when to raise/fold as well. He rarely gave away free chips and stole more than his share from the smaller stacks.
