Ludwig is one of the most popular streamers, and he was a recreational poker player before becoming a streamer. He was always passionate about playing poker. Ludwig also mentioned in one of his videos how he was making money from organizing poker games.
Ludwig appeared in MrBeast’s poker night at Hustler Casino, which ended up being the most watched poker stream ever with over 100,000 live viewers.
In one of his recent streams, Ludwig was asked which sponsorship deal he regrets the most, and Ludwig said, “The sponsor I regret the most is a poker company I used to work with called American Cardroom.” Ludwig goes further and explains that he won a bunch of money on the site playing tournaments, and the site refused to pay him out. Ludwig also concluded that if it’s hard for him to pull his money out, it must also be hard for other people.
There has always been controversy around ACR, but it was mostly connected to bots and servers crashing. There wasn’t much talk about problems with cashing out. Recently there was a situation where ACR way paying $100,000 to anyone who could create a bot which could play on the site undeteced. Few people created some bots and installed them on the site, and soon ACR withdrawed the challenge and whole thing went silent.
After Ludwig’s stream, chess streamer Alexandra Botez also came out and said that ACR hasn’t paid out dozens of creators for sponsored streams.
Other cases were also mentioned in the comment section where streamers were scammed by ACR. @PaymoneyWubby, who worked with ACR in 2022, said he also wasn’t paid.
We still haven’t seen any responses to this accusation by ACR or any ACR representatives. We will have to wait and see if this story grows and if ACR makes a statement about it.
