Qualifier Razvan Belea Takes Down 2023 EPT Paris Main Event for €1,170,000

Inaugural 2023 EPT Paris has crowned a winner at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile. Out of 1,606 players that entered the €5,300 Main Event, it was the online qualifier Razvan Belea who raised a trophy for the win and picked up a €1,170,000 money prize along the way, beating Peter Jorgne in heads-up.

The Romanian was the chip leader at the start of Day 5 when 15 players were left, at the start of the Final Table and at the start of the Day 6 with 5 players left, so it’s a much-deserved win as he plowed through the Sunday’s final table. RazvyQQ as he goes online, is a strong online tournament player with close to $400,000 profit. He qualified on PokerStars through $530 buy-in satellite.

“This is unreal,” Belea said in an interview after his win. “It’s all I ever dreamed of since I started playing poker. I was watching EPTs and now I am a champion. I don’t know what to say, I’m a bit emotional. I followed my dream from the beginning, studied a lot, a lot of hours behind the computer. Everything is possible.”

Third place finisher was Fabrice Bigot, who won the WPT Prime Paris just a few weeks before the start of European Poker Tour. He upgraded his €177,240 money prize to €535,850.
