While Teliani is experienced in tournament play, Senekal is a newcomer to the game with this event being his first played tournament. Both players met through work both working at VisionMax Eye Centre.

2 | Brenda & Holly | $2,800 |

With 59 teams having entered, this event broke the previous record for a similar event at the PPT. After six hours of play, a final table was set with only six players guaranteed to make the money. Team Garret/Amy were the first to fall in the money exiting the tournament in 6th place. Team Parmar/Sharma doubled through Team Vince/Annie after getting it in dominated with ace-ten against ace-jack. Flopped two pair flipped the odds and the short stacked Vince/Annie were eliminated shortly after.
Team James/Garrett soon exited the fray leaving 3 teams left. Team Parmar/Sharma were the next to fall after shoving blind into Team Teliani/Senekal. Their suited connector turned some life with a flush draw. However, a brick on the river sealed their fate sending them out in 3rd place. Finally, Team Brenda/Holly lost a 40/60 flip with king-ten against Team Teliani/Senekal’s ace-jack to bring the tournament to a close. Congratulations to Team Teliani/Senekal and thank you to all the tag team tournament competitors to make it a memorable Valentine’s Day.
First Multi-Day Event Underway as Event #3: $670 Kicks Off

Also on the docket for the day was the first multi-day event of the series. Players will have two days to try to bag a chip stack before the tournament will play down to a winner. Michael St. Pierre-Porter (Runner up of Event #2) started the day off hot as the chip leader early into Day 1a. Johnny Dalphond found steam early after flopping two pair with king-queen. He moved all in and was called by Harold Boutilier who turned a worse two pair with king-ten. Dalphond held to double to approximately 70,000 in chips.
By the dinner break, Trevor Simpson led the pack with 115,800. Dalphond and St. Pierre Porter rounded out the podium positions with 103,300 and 102,900 each. With late registration closed, 38 players entered Day 1a allowing 5 players to bag at the end of the night. St. Pierre-Porter’s luck ran out as he exited the tournament shy of the final table. Robert Limpert, who chopped the seniors event, held the chip lead at 155,000 with 9 remaining. Colten Yamagishi found value on a 4♥3♣3♥3♠4♠ board as his pocket sixes gave him a higher full house.

Jerry Ozog and Jake Tucker exited soon after leaving just two eliminations to the money. Limpert still held the chip lead (223,000), while Ryan (171,000) and Tony Comely (159,000) weren’t far behind. However, everyone was at risk with all but one stack being over 110,000. Trevor Simpson found a double as the shortest stack winning a flip against Ryan Comely’s pocket queens with ace-king to near 100,000.
Comely soon found himself on the rail as Yamagishi found the elimination to stack up to 180,000. Yamagishi’s aggression continued to pay off until he ran into a shove from Limpert. He was left with 100,000 as play ended for the day. Tony Comely was the last elimination after he ran into the pocket queens of Simpson. The remaining players bagged for the night with the following stacks.

Johnny Dalphond | 179,500 |
