2025 Season of Pure Poker Tour Opens at Argyle in February

Another season of the Pure Poker Tour (PPT) is set to begin on Feb 13 with the usual suspects — Seniors 50+ starting at noon. That is the first of 11 days of poker action at Pure Casino Edmonton for the opening series on the 2025 PPT calendar.

The 2025 season of the PPT will see a few changes, with the biggest coming in the venues. The season will drop to five events instead of the six from previous years, and all five series will take place in Edmonton, moving crosstown between Argyle and Yellowhead.

2025 PPT Series Dates (Tentative)

  • PPT #1: Feb 13-Feb 23 – Pure Casino Edmonton
  • PPT #2: May 15-May 25 – Pure Casino Yellowhead
  • PPT #3: Jul 17-Jul 27 – Pure Casino Edmonton
  • PPT #4: Sep 18-Sep 28 – Pure Casino Yellowhead
  • PPT #5: Nov 20-Dec 01 – Pure Casino Yellowhead

Satellite action for the opening series gets going on Feb 9 with a Landmark satellite at Casino Edmonton. One in ten entries will bag T$3,800 packages for $440 ($280 + $60). Feb 10 & 11 feature more Landmark fun with T$1,900 packages up for grabs at Casino Yellowhead and Casino Edmonton, respectively ($220: $190 + $30), while Wed Feb 12 has a $170 satellite in which 1 in 7.5 entries will pocket $1,100 in tournament cash, good for entry to the Main Event.

Argyle is Where it’s At to Start 2025!

The opening tilt for the 2025 PPT season comes at Argyle, officially known as Pure Casino Edmonton. As mentioned, the Seniors kick off 12 days of hot poker action (no guarantees the weather will even be close to hot) but younger players will still have the chance to get chips in play on the opening day in Event #2: NLH Bounty at 4 PM. Another Main Event satellite closes out the opening day at 7:30 PM.

Friday marks the first multi-day tournament on the schedule with the first of two flights to Event #3 ($670). At 7 PM, the Tag Team tournament gets going for a Valentine’s Day special — teams don’t have to be romantically involved to enter, but for poker couples, it seems like an excellent “date night” for the big day.

That leads into an opening weekend that sees a winner in Event #3 on Sunday as well as multiple side events including a Survivor game on Sunday night. The second week of action includes the two-day 6-Max game for $780 and the $2k High Roller which runs its Day 1 on Wed Feb 19 at 4 PM. The HR timing has been changed from the previous series so as not to conflict with the Main Event on the final weekend.

Main Event action kicks off on Feb 21 at 1 PM with the first of two starting flights. The second chance comes on Saturday, with the first PPT Main Event champ crowned sometime late Sunday night (Most likely – the tournament staff always reserve the right to call the game and bring back the final action on Monday, Feb 24).

There is plenty of other action on the schedule for PPT #1 with multiple satellite shots at the bigger games sprinkled throughout the week. The schedule and all the structures for the upcoming series are posted below — stay tuned for poker.pro’s exclusive live coverage of the 2025 Pure Poker Tour starting next week from Pure Casino Edmonton.
