Final Table Action
Kristen took control of the final table from the start. She had the biggest stack, with a 2:1 lead over the second-place stack.
The first one to be eliminated was Neil Warren, who was Joao Simao’s victim. He took seventh place for $37,200.
Nick Seward was the next one to hit the rail as his Ace-Jack suited ran into Ace-King of Foxen. The board was eight high, and it offered no help to Seward, who finished in sixth place for $46,500. With five remaining players, Kristen Foxen was chip-leading with 60 percent of all chips in the game.
Foxen shoved all-in with 3h3c and was called by short-stacked Moreno with A♣K♠ and Joao Simao with A♥9♥. The board ran 7♥4♣7♦4♦9♣, giving the triple up to Simao and eliminating Moreno in fifth place for $65,100.
Foxen continued with aggression and almost eliminated Jeremy Ausmus, who left himself half of the big blind and folded himself on the river in his hand, where he was outdrawn. Ausmus was eliminated in fourth place in the next hand for $83,700.
After winning an all-in against Foxen, Simao won an all-in hand against Stephen Song, who was eliminated in third place for $111,600.
The Heads-Up
Going into the heads-up battle, Simao had a slight chip lead and momentum, as he had won a few big hands against Foxen.
The final hand happened when Simao opened from BTN with A♠10♥, and Foxen called with 9♣7♥. The board came 7♥4♠3♥, Simao check-raised, and Foxen called with top par. The turn was 8♣, and both players checked. The river came 8♥, completing the potential flush. Simao went for an all-in bluff with A-high, and Foxen made a tough call to take down the trophy.
Simao was eliminated in second place for $197,625.
