A couple of weeks ago, the poker community received great news when PartyPoker announced that it would return to the live poker scene in 2025 with five stops in the UK. After a year’s hiatus, the popular live poker tour picks up where they left off after their most recent event in November 2023. Considering the popularity of PartyPoker’s previous events, there’s no doubt many poker players will be intrigued to participate in what will be a very prestigious live poker tour.
The locations for three of the five stops have already been announced: London April 19-27, Manchester June 17-22, and Glasgow August 12-17. While players are sitting on needles waiting for the two remaining stops to be announced, poker.pro finds it suitable to do a recap of the 2023 season to get even more excited about what’s to come.
Big Fields in Bratislava and Malta
There were three PartyPoker LIVE stops during 2023, and contrary to the 2025 schedule, they were spread across Europe. It all started at Card Casino Šamorín in Bratislava, where the €550 PartyPoker Grand Prix attracted a whopping 1,113 entries. The players fought it out over a couple of days for the biggest share of the €542,590 prize pool. After a thrilling tournament in the Slovakian capital, Alexandros Dimogiorgis came out on top, winning €102,000 and the first PartyPoker LIVE title of 2023.
The tour then continued to Malta for the €550 Grand Prix at Portomaso Casino. Word of the tour’s success in Bratislava spread worldwide, resulting in a staggering 2,237 entries, creating a €1,011,840 prize pool. Six of the nine players on the final table represented the Italian flag, but in the end, victory belonged to Argentina’s Jacques Blit, who collected a hefty €145,000 prize check for his achievement.
The Grand Prix wasn’t the only big tournament during this stop. The €3,000 PartyPoker MILLIONS is usually a prestigious tournament during PartyPoker’s live events, and 154 entries were made in what most certainly could be called a high-roller tournament. Mario Trattou emerged victorious and brought the trophy and the €93,000 paycheck back home to England.
At this point, there was no doubt that PartyPoker LIVE had grown to become a very popular live poker tour, and the action would continue to the last stop of 2023 in Ireland.
Season Finale in Dublin
The 2023 PartyPoker LIVE season rounded off in November. The tables were set at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dublin, and presumably, players were eager to capture the last PartyPoker LIVE titles of 2023.
In the €550 Grand Prix event, Italy’s Ivan Tononi conquered a field of 267 entries and became €23,260 richer after beating Norwegian Knut Berntsen heads up. Tononi is a veteran on the live poker tour, and it will be interesting to see if he joins the PartyPoker fun this year.
The biggest cash for the 2023 season though, came from Michel Molenaar. The Dutchman stood for one of the 286 entries in the €3,000 PartyPoker MILLIONS in Dublin. The €210,000 is the biggest cash so far in the career of this 24-year-old poker prodigy.
