What a week it’s been for Estonian chess grandmaster and poker beast Ottomar Ladva at the Bombay High Stakes Week at the Bombay Club. Ladva managed a fourth-place finish followed by a runner-up finish in two of the three first events and has just capped off this impressive run with a victory in the Bombay High Stakes Week €25,000 Main Event for €225,600 after agreeing to a three-way deal with Evgeniy Tereschenko and Casimir Seire.
Meanwhile, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel also earned a trophy after defeating Andras Nemeth heads-up in the €15,000 PLO for €142,400.

Ladva Earns Trophy, While Tereschenko Earned More Money
The €25,000 Main Event attracted 36 entries mixed from some of the top talent around the world to create a €873,000 prize pool.
It was a long, hard grind until the final table, which witnessed Lithuania’s Matas Cimbolas and Bombay Invitational champion Markkos Ladev hit the rail to leave the final seven players on the money bubble. Netherlands’s Tom Vogelsang was the final player to exit without a payout before Ragnar Toompere (fourth – €100,400), Ilya Nikiforov (fifth – €78,600), and Joni Jouhkimainen (sixth – €61,100) hit the rail resulting in just three players remaining for the title.
The trio agreed to a deal that guaranteed Evgeniy Tereschenko the largest prize. Casimir Seire hit the rail in third place for €180,000, before Ladva defeated Tereschenko to win the title for €225,600. Tereschenko earned €227,300 for his runner-up performance.

Martin Kabrhel Shines With Four Cards

Czech Republic’s Martin Kabrhel is mostly known for his two-card prowess. He is one of the most accomplished no-limit hold’em tournament players in Europe, having dozens of titles in major events. While not particularly known for pot-limit omaha, the poker beast held his own and won his second-ever international PLO title in the €15,000 PLO for €142,400.
Although a friend of poker.pro Jesper Nordqvist sat this one out and likely would have had a nice edge on the field being known as one of the best PLO players in the world, there were many other PLO beasts in the mix including the formidable Eelis Parssinen who snagged fourth place for €39,800. Shortly after his exit, Parssinen was witnessed discussing no-limit hold’em spots with Tereschenko and others as he strives to improve his two-card game while still beating away with four or more cards.
Germany’s Jonas Kronwitter exited in third place for €59,600, leaving Kabrhel and Hungarian poker legend Andras Nemeth heads-up for a title. Kabrhel came out on top to win the lion’s share of the €331,200 prize pool created by the 23 entries, while Nemeth collected a healthy €89,400 runner-up prize.
