Roberts Krīgers Keeps Main Event Trophy in Latvia

The €1,100 Main Event was one of the largest events in Latvian poker history with 141 entries creating a €133,950 prize pool. Friday witnessed the action play down to the final table with Estonia’s Ott Jaakson holding a sizeable lead over the field with eventual champion Roberts Krīgers in the middle of the pack.
Six countries were represented at the final table with the final five players each waving a different country flag after Finland’s Joona Koivisto (sixth – €7,030), Lithuania’s Jurgis Beinoras (seventh – €5,790), €555 NLH Championship winner from France Michel Leibgorin (eighth – €4,750), and Latvia’s Jevgēnijs Zotovs (ninth – €3,820) all hit the rail.
Finland’s Petteri Laiho, the runner-up in the 2023 Kings of Tallinn Main Event, exited in fifth place for €8,790, guaranteeing the final four players a five-figure payday.
United Kingdom’s Glen Gaines was the last player in 2022 to win a Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event before it was rebranded as part of the Kings of Tallinn. He shared before the event that he was hoping to match this with a Main Event trophy in Riga, but he instead fell one player shy of the podium, finishing fourth place for €11,580.
Meanwhile, Jaakson’s massive chip lead to start the final table only took him so far. He was the first out at the podium in third place for €15,500, leaving Krīgers and Martynas Mockevičius heads-up for the title. Krīgers was all smiles with his rail after he got the job done, while Mockevičius settled for the healthy runner-up prize of €21,710.
Congrats to Roberts Krīgers for an epic victory to remember in the 2025 OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Spring Edition €1,100 Main Event.
