KKLive Heads to New Brunswick

There’s a new player on the live tournament stage in Canada with KKLive. 2023 saw KKPoker break into the Canadian market in a big way with their online client serving as a feeder for big live games across the country. The operator stepped up to provide online satellites to big live events like WSOP-C Calgary and Pure Poker Tour, as well as WSOP, WPT, and local events at places like Playground Poker Club outside of Montreal. In late 2023, it added the KKLive component by sponsoring its first live Canadian event in Montreal.

KKPoker has also been very active on the eastern side of the country, sponsoring events in the Maritimes, including a KKLive in Prince Edward Island in 2024. 2025 sees the Green Giant head back to the Maritimes for KKLive New Brunswick with the live Day 1 action on Apr 4 & 5 and Day 2 action on Apr 6.

What makes KKLive such an innovative event for the Canadian scene is the combination of online and offline play. Players can book their Day 2 seats online through multiple Day 1 flights running on KKPoker starting on Feb 9 and satellite paths to get you to the Day 1 games as well.

Hybrid Online/Live Model

The format for KKLive is a bit unique in Canada. While the final Day 2 action is played out on the live felt, players can play Day 1 events online from the comfort of their own home, on the train, or while waiting for their flights, thanks to KKPoker’s excellent mobile integration.

The mobile-first approach for the KKPoker client makes it easy to play the games you want to play from anywhere your mobile device has a signal. That means players can book their Day 2 seats while waiting in the Doctor’s office or on the toilet. Live specialists need not worry, however, as there are three days of live Day 1 action starting Apr 11 in Fredericton.

KKPoker’s growth is no surprise; the site offers a variety of games, and since the launch of its PC software, even more players have discovered the unique KKPoker charm.

Through KKPoker, players can qualify for live poker events all across the globe, which makes it a good choice for players who want to secure their next live poker adventure for a cheaper buck. What’s better, new players can benefit from the KKPoker deposit bonus; your first deposit will be 100% matched up to $1,000, which makes this quite the deal for the aspiring poker player.

Don’t forget to join our poker.pro club over at KKPoker, for which we have big plans in the future!

Maple Leaf Satties

Online satellite play for the event kicks off on Feb 3 and is exclusive to Canadian clients. Global players are eligible to enter the online Day 1 flights but the satellite path is restricted to Canadian players only.

The opening satellite salvo is the Freeroll where players can get a Day 1 ticket for free. Running Feb 3 at 7 pm Atlantic Time, the KKLive New Brunswick Freeroll will send some lucky players to Fredericton on KK’s dime.

Regular satellites kick off on the online client on Feb 4 with buy-ins starting at $1.50, so even if you don’t book your ticket for free, you can still get to the Maritimes for cheap.

KKLive NB Packages

The package for Day 2 online qualifiers to Fredericton includes travel expenses. Given that Canada is such a big country, the value of the package depends on the player’s location.

Most Day 2 players traveling to Fredericton from Canadian locations after qualifying online will have $800 extra to help pad their travel expenses. Quebec players will get $400, while players in PEI will get a $50 boost. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick players will have to foot their own travel costs, but they should be relatively minor given the location.

KKLive is the Emerging Live Poker Force in Canada

With initial series in Montreal and PEI in 2023/4, KKLive burst onto the live Canadian scene. Known primarily as the online path to live games around the country like WSOP-C Calgary, the 2023 addition of its own branded live tour adds a tangible legitimacy to the operation.

While Canadian player reps Gusto Katievo (west) and Chris “Pokin StaR” Alcindor (east) have made the online client real with their presence at live events across the country, the addition of the fully branded live tours is a step up into the big leagues.

KKLive New Brunswick is likely just the first event of 2025 so stay tuned for a KKLive event coming soon to a poker room near you!
