It’s no secret that the popularity of mixed games has been growing a lot during the last couple of years, and what better place to enjoy all of your favorite poker games than in Las Vegas? Cardplayer Lifestyle recently announced that they’ll be hosting Mixed Game Festival X at Resorts World Las Vegas in February, an event that is sure to attract a huge crowd of mixed game enthusiasts.

Mixed Games Galore

The event will celebrate its tenth iteration when Mixed Game Festival X takes it to Resorts World Las Vegas February 16-20. With Cardplayer Lifestyle founder Robbie Strazynski and his team steering the ship, one can count on the festival to be an unforgettable event, putting the mixed games poker player in focus.

One could argue that there are two main events during this mixed games bonanza. On Monday 17, the $300 Omaha 8/Stud 8 tournament will commence, and players will seek to make company with previous winners such as John “Miami” Cernuto, Mike Patrick, and Eric Rivkin. The event alternates Omaha 8 or better and Stud 8 or better between every hand; historically, there have been between 50-70 players throwing their name into the competition in this tournament, competing for a first-place payout of around $2,500-4,000.

Then, on Thursday the 20, it’s time for the $300 H.E.R.O.S. event, which can be seen as a grand finale of the festival. 2004 WSOP Main Event winner Greg Raymer is one of the players who’ve been fortunate enough to have lifted the H.E.R.O.S. trophy in the past, and somewhere between 70-100 players are expected to compete for glory this year. Texas NLH, Stud 8, Razz, Omaha 8, and Stud are the games that together make up H.E.R.O.S., and surely this gem appeals to all mixed game lovers.

A Smorgasbord of Events

Even though these two tournaments may be the golden nuggets of the festival, there’s, of course, much more happening at Resorts World Las Vegas. Dealer’s choice cash game will run at $4/8 and $8/16, with possibilities of playing even higher stakes if the demand is there.

Tuesday 18 will be the “Drawmaha day.” Players will be offered to attend a one-hour lecture on the basics of Drawmaha and all of its sub-genres (Drawmaha 49, Drawma-Dugi, etc.). After class, the Drawmaha cash game will commence, where players can try out their skills in this action-packed poker principle.

Last but not least is Women’s Wednesday on the 19. Women in Poker Hall of Famer Lupe Soto will act as host as she’ll share the secrets on how to be successful in Stud games (mainly Razz, 7-Card Stud, and 7-Card Stud 8 or Better). Cardplayer Lifestyle has teamed up with Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) for this collaboration and after Soto’s conclusions, the students can put their Stud knowledge to the test in micro cash game practice.

Strazynski couldn’t be more excited for the 10th edition of the Mixed Game Festival. He reminisces about the birth of the event and expresses his gratitude:

“I first conceived of the Mixed Game Festival back in late 2019. Due to COVID, we were only able to hold our first one in October 2021. It was an experiment and I didn’t know if it would succeed. If you had told me back then that we’d be having our 10th one a little over 3 years later, my jaw would’ve dropped!

I’m so thrilled to always get universally positive feedback from our players and that they keep returning, as well as telling their friends back home about the great times they have. This is the first of three planned Mixed Game Festivals for 2025 and I hope to keep up the momentum and see our footprint grow in years to come.”

$750 Mixed Games Tickets Giveaway

To put the cherry on top, two $750 seats to the PGT Mixed Games 8-Game Mix Satellite will be given away during Thursday’s HE.R.O.S. event, much thanks to the festival’s main sponsor PokerGO Tour (PGT). One winner will be chosen at random from all the players remaining in the tournament after late registration is closed. The second ticket comes in the form of a mystery bounty; knock out the right player and the ticket is yours.

The two lucky winners will put their tickets to use on February 24, when the satellite will be played in the Aria Poker Room.

It’s all about mixed games during the Mixed Game Festival X, and it will be nerve-wracking seeing the action unfold at World Resorts Las Vegas February 16-20. Best of luck, all mixed games-maniacs!
