Wednesday was the calm before the storm at the 2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker, taking place from January 25 to February 2 at the luxurious Olympic Casino Lietuva, located steps away from the iconic Vilnius Old Town with the highlight of the festival in the €555 Main Event taking place from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.
In the meantime, Wedensday was also bustling with action with Jonas Lapinskas earning the rights of the star of the day after he defeated fellow Lithuanian Zygimantas Naglis heads-up to win the only trophy of the day in the Event #17: €250 NLH Deepstack for €4,336. Lapinskas remarkably bubbled the final table the day before by the hands of this author in Event #12: €350 NLH Turbo Deepstack and that is now a distant memory as Lapinskas will come back on Thursday to collect his trophy after earning his largest cash to date.
As one of the nicest guys in the poker world, Lapinskas usually comes out for the major festivals hosted by OlyBet. He now will have a memory to last at least until his next largest cash.
Meanwhile, the €1,100 High Roller began with its opening day with 84 runners and is set to set a new record for a €1,100 side event in Vilnius with already 84 runners and more to come with late registration remaining open for the first blind level of Day 2 starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Jonas Lapinskas Earns First Trophy
Jonas Lapinskas always appears calm, cool, and collected at the tables and it was only a matter of time before he earned his first trophy. He entered the international final table represented by players from six different countries in Event #17: €250 Deepstack, which also was a change of pace from recent memory where final tables were dominated by local players.
The event, which attracted 64 entries to create a €13,376 prize pool, awarded the top eight spots at least a €510 min-cash for more than double the €250 buy-in. After foreigners claimed a few trophies in the past two days, the sole trophy on Wednesday was guaranteed to stay home in Lithuania by the time Lapinskas reached the heads-up stage against Zygimantas Naglis. Lapinskas got all the glory, the €4,336 top prize, and the trophy after defeating his opponent with Naglis earning a healthy €2,780 for his efforts.
