Early Life
Cary Steven Katz is an American businessman who was born on 29 January 1970.
Cary got a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. He founded College Loan Corporation in 1999, where he worked as CEO for 15 years. The company was providing $19 billion in loans.
In 2014, he started the conservative media website CRTV, and in 2018, he filed a lawsuit against the company over the alleged non-payment of a $20 million loan.
In 2015, Katz founded the Poker Central website, which started the subscription-based streaming platform PokerGO.
Katz learned poker from his grandmother and started playing live MTTs in 2004. His first live recorded MTT cash came in 2004 from the $10,000+200 No Limit Hold’em Championship event, where he came in 24th place and won $10,381.
World Series of Poker
Katz got his first WSOP cash in 2009 when he got 159th place in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold’em event for $40,288.
In 2013, he came in 2nd place in the $5,000 Pot Limit Hold’em event for $138,794.
One year later, he had a deep run in the $1,000,000 No Limit Hold’em – The Big One for One Drop event and got 8th place for $1,306,667.
In 2016, in Monte Carlo, he beat his last score in €888,889+111,111 No Limit Hold’em Big One For One Drop event when he got 5th place for $1,929,203
Another 2nd place came in 2017 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event and won $225,181.
In 2022, he won 3rd place in the $ 10,000 No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship event for $131,362.
In 2023, he came in 2nd place in the $100,000 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller – 8-Handed event for $1,592,539.
