While players are preparing for Day 1B of partypoker MILLIONS Online Main Event, let’s have a look at highlights of some of the biggest events in previous days. We’ll start with a massive $25,500 Super High Roller.
There’s quite a poker boom going on among chess players in the last few years and it might go even crazier now as Estonian chess grandmaster Ottomar Ladva wins 6-Max Super High Roller for $525,089!
An already amazing achievement makes everything even more impressive if we tell you that he qualified from only $530! First, he bought into $530 satellite and won $2,650 satellite ticket, which he turned into a $25,500 seat for Super High Roller.
For the win he had to fight against Justin Bonomo in HU, while being more than 2:1 behind in chips. After multiple hours he finally finished with a check mate and took home $525,089 first place prize.
Mike McDonald even suggests that he might be one of the best chess-poker crossover players right now.

This year’s event wasn’t “super”, but he still pocketed $49,983 first prize. He left behind superstars like David Peters, partypoker team member Patrick Leonard and in Heads-Up he won against Dario Sammartino.
