Once they got heads up, Frank Gallie had the big lead with more than 2 million of the 2.8 million in play. But poker is a fickle game, and just a few hands later, after a couple of smaller doubles, Justin Joson found a huge spot with pocket aces when Gallie shoved over an open to 120k. Joson snapped it off and Gallie was drawing to the wheel with ace-three.
He nearly found a chop when the 9♥9♦6♥9♣10♠ board had one too few nines on it to counterfeit the aces. Joson held for a double to about 2.4 million with Gallie on just 400k. Joson offered an even chop at that point with the stipulation that he took the official win, as there were only about 40 big blinds total on the table. Gallie took a few seconds to think about it, but with just 5 bigs, he decided it was too good a deal to pass up, despite being against making a deal earlier in the evening.
Both players scored $5,163, and Joson recorded the official win.
