It was a marathon battle for Gerald Chung to get his sixth live win. He has three previous trophies from the PPT, but they were all in Seniors events, so this is his first open trophy on the tour.
He had to find a way to survive a few times when he was at risk heads up but he managed to find the cards he needed when he needed them. In the final hand, he flopped the best six, then proceeded to run out to a full house against the weaker six for runner-up Clint Galloway.
Chung has $126k USD in earnings on Hendon so today’s win should put close to $130k.
