Time moves fast when you’re having fun, they say. The three Day 1-flights of the Perla Poker Festival Main Event passed by as fast as the speed of lightning, and we’re ready to enter Day 2 action tomorrow, January 12.
However, before we get to Day 2, let’s dissect the Day 1c live blog and see what went down at the Perla poker room today.
Hašimovič Overcomes
From a live reporter’s perspective, it feels like I saw pocket aces 100 times today. Each hand seemed to be an all-in showdown, with one player having the goods. One that we particularly remember is, of course, when Pašan Hašimovič called Gianluca Lingeris’ shove on the flop, resulting in his aces getting cracked. However, Hašimovič kept his cool and bounced back quickly; he climbed back to the top of the rankings and secured the Day 1c chip lead.
There are, of course, many memorable moments from Day 1c, one of them being Danilo Colomba channeling his inner Doyle Brunson and flopping the nut flush with 10♥2♥. Colomba bagged 140,000 chips and we’ll see him again tomorrow.
Here you can see the top 5 stacks moving on from Day 1c:
1 | Pašan Hašimovič | 313,000 | 157 |
2 | Juric Naponiello | 302,000 | 151 |
3 | Dino Bahtijarević | 297,000 | 149 |
4 | Gaetano Fiore | 221,000 | 111 |
5 | Riccardo Asquini | 201,000 | 101 |
Playtime’s Over
Day 2 kicks off tomorrow, January 12, at 13:00, and players are now entering the more crucial part of the tournament. All in all, 95 players will enter Day 2 coming from the various Day 1 flights, but late registration is open until the end of Level 3 during Day 2. The buy-in during Day 2 is €500.
Day 2 will start on blinds 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante. The level length will be 40 minutes instead of 30 as it was during the Day 1 flights. Day 2 will play down to the final table.
So far, €69,780 has been collected towards the prize pool, and a handful of entries are expected to be done during Day 2.
The PokerPro team is beyond excited to give you live updates from Day 2 of the Perla Poker Festival Main Event. We wish all players a good night’s rest, and we’ll see you in the Perla poker room tomorrow!
