  • Survivor is Thursday’s Third Game

    Event:Event #3: $340 Survivor ($300 + $40)
    Date:Nov 21, 7 pm
    Blinds:20 Minutes
    Starting Stack:20k
    Late Entry:6 Levels (~9:15 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The third game on the opening day is a Survivor format where all players in the money chop the prize pool evenly. The game gets going at 7 PM with 20k in chips to start. They play 20=minute levels until they hit 10% of the field when the game will end.

Players have 6 levels to enter the game, which means the last chance to enter will be about 9:15 on Thursday evening. This game is my third priority on Thursday so it likely won’t get much coverage. I’ll try to keep the numbers up to date and get a photo of the players who make the money, but otherwise, it’s likely this one is pretty dark.

  • NLH Turbo is First Open Event

    Event:Event #2: $230 NLH Turbo ($200 + $30)
    Date:Nov 21, 4 pm
    Blinds:20 Minutes
    Starting Stack:20k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~7:30 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The opening day of action for the 2024 Tournament of Champions starts with a 50+ game, but there is an open side game starting at 4 PM for the chronologically disadvantaged players.

Players start the day with 20k in chips for 20-minute levels in this Turbo game. Entries are open for 9 levels plus breaks, so the last chance to buy into this one should be about 7:30 PM Thursday evening. After that, it will be a race to the finish as this will end in the single-day.

My main focus on Thursday will be the Seniors game to start, but once the Seniors finish, if this game is still running, I’ll move over to cover the endgame. At the very least, I should be able to get numbers and winners photos sorted.

  • As Usual, Seniors First

    Event:Pure Poker Tour Series #6 – Event #1: $340 Seniors First ($300 + $40)
    Date:Nov 21, Noon
    Blinds:30 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:8 Levels (~5 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The final Pure Poker Tour series of 2024 is set to go with the opening action, as usual, going to the Senior players. The open salvos for the 50+ game will be fired starting at noon on Thursday.

Players start out with 25k in chips for 30-minute levels and they’ll have 8 levels to enter the game. That should put the last chance to register at about 5 pm when the return from the dinner break following Level 8.

This is a one-day game so they’ll finish it out sometime late Thursday evening or the wee hours of Friday morning. This will be my main focus for the opening day of action.
