Among the players in the game so far are Rob Bridger, who was one of the early exits from Day 2 of the Main, Michael St. Pierre-Porter, Reg Hampton, and Julius Roque.
I won’t be watching this game very closely today as I’ll be focused on the Main Event, but I should be able to keep the numbers updated and at least get the winner’s photo done once they finish. My guess is that this game will finish before the Main Event does, so I likely won’t even have eyes on the final table action.
-

DJ Sharma Wins Turbo for $6,335
Level: 22 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 1/92 Prizes: $21,850 There are a lot of reasons that people play poker but at the end of the day, it’s a card and it’s a lot of fun. No one embodies that spirit of fun at the poker tables quite the way DJ Sharma does and tonight the passion paid off with a win.
It’s never a secret when Sharma is doing well in a tournament, as shouts of “Sharma TIME!” can be heard throughout the poker room when he hits a hand. But whether he wins a hand or loses one, whether he stacks up or chips down, he’s in love with the game and is never shy about showing it.
Tonight was no exception, and he was in his usual spirits as he worked his way through the game and the final table. Make no mistake – he has a lot of fun at the table, but he also knows his cards. The Turbo format was well-suited to his style and while he traded the chip lead a bit at the final table, with runner-up Brad Davis, and 4th-place Sen Indra, he stayed near the top of the pack the whole way.
Sharma certainly ran hot tonight, but he also played a solid game. He sent Indra to the rail with a solid call with ace-ten over ace-six and won his fair share of races to send both Shane McKinnon (7th) and Julius Roque (3rd) to the cage for payouts.
The final confrontation was a pretty standard heads up spot that saw Davis get the short stack in with king-queen against Sharma’s ace-five. When the board missed both hands, Sharma took down the game.
This was his fifth live win and the score will push his Hendon Mob earnings very close to $200k. It’s not his biggest score in live poker, but the successful businessman doesn’t play for profit – he’s in it for the love of the game

In the final hand, they were both very short and he got his stack in with king-queen. DJ Sharma had the bigger stack and called it off with ace-five. The 10♥3♦2♥7♦3♣ board missed both hands leaving Sharma’s ace the best.
