2025 Pure Poker Tour Series #1 – Event #12: $450 PLO Bounty

LIVE Reporting: Pure Poker Tour

The 2025 Pure Poker Tour kicks off on February 13 at Pure Casino Edmonton, with live coverage by Lyle Bateman throughout the series.

  • Glenn Tarasoff and Colten Yamagishi Chop PLO Bounty

Colten Yamagishi (L) & Glenn Tarasoff (R) ICN chopped Event #12

Once they got two ways, rather than moving to the poker room, the final two players decided to do an ICM chop. Colten Yamagishi took the smaller payout ($7,038) but the official win while Glenn Tarasoff got the most money ($7,577) and second place in the official standings.

It was a weird endgame to this one as they were on 14 players for what seemed like forever, then they raced down to three players left. That’s when things stalled again as they played more than four full levels three-handed. Then near the end of Level 24, it all ended in moments when Stefan Maloney went out in 3rd and Yamagishi and Tarasoff agreed to the chop.

  • Stefan Maloney Out in 3rd Place for $3,875

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:2/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

The tournament was about to move into the Poker room, so I packed up and moved over a little early. That was a bad move as Stefan Maloney hit the rail just before the end of the level for 3rd place and I missed the hand.

  • Tarasoff Doubles to the Lead

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:3/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Glenn Tarasoff made it 100k from the button and Colten Yamagishi called to the 7JQ flop. Yamagishi check-called the 260k pot bet from Tarasoff to see Q on the turn

Tarasoff shoved the rest of his stack and Yamagishi called. Tarasoff was on ace-ace-nine-deuce against ten-nine-nine-eight for Yamagishi. The 5 river was a brick for Yamagishi’s straight draw and the aces for Tarasoff held.

The hand left Tarasoff with about 1.1 million to 1 million for Yamagishi. Stefan Maloney has chipped up since he was nearly felted and is playing about 600k now.

  • Spades over Spades nearly Felts Maloney

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:3/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Colten Yamagishi limped the button and Glenn Tarasoff called before Stefan Maloney made it 120k from the big blind. Yamagishi backed away, but Tarasoff called.

Tarasoff potted the K68 flop for 300k, leaving just 15k behind and Maloney called. The rest of it went in on the 5 turn with both players drawing to spades but Tarasoff on the bigger draw. The 10 river gave Tarasoff the bigger flush and the double, leaving Maloney as the short stack now while Tarasoff is up to about 800k.

  • Yamagishi With the Big Lead

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:3/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Colten Yamagishi is still the big leader with almost 3x the chips of second place Stefan Maloney and more than Maloney and Glenn Tarasoff combined.

    Stefan Maloney620,000
    Colten Yamagishi1,690,000
    Glenn Tarasoff400,000
  • Tarasoff Wheels Over Yamagishi

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:3/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Colten Yamagishi raised the button to 30k and Glenn Tarasoff called from the small blind. Tarasoff check-called for 15k on the 593 and they both checked the 10 turn. Tarasoff check-called again for 25k on the A river.

Yamagishi announced “Two pair” but mucked when Tarasoff showed KJ42 for the winning wheel. Yamagishi still has a commanding lead — I’ll grab exact counts in about 5 minutes while they are on break.

  • Nathanael Habte Out in 4th Place for $2,980

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:3/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)
    Nathanael Habte

They are down to three now after Colten Yamagishi sent Nathanael Habte to the rail. Habte limped under the gun and Stefan Maloney called before Yamagishi repopped it to 60k. Habte called while Maloney backed out of the pot.

It all kicked off on the 67J flop when Yamagishi bet 120k, then shoved after Habte potted it. Habte called off his stack and they were both on the jack. Yamagishi had the best kicker with a queen versus a ten and sealed it when he turned the queen for two pair.

  • George Mounsef Out in 5th Place for $2,295

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:4/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)
    George Mounsef

They are down to 4 now after George Mounsef hit the rail as I was coming back from a quick break. There are about 15 minutes to play in Level 19 and they’ll take another break after Level 20, assuming they make it that far.

The average stack is still pretty deep at more than 50 big blinds, but most of the chips are in front of Colten Yamagushi and Stefan Maloney.

  • Final Table Pics

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:5/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Things are moving quickly in the FT now with the field down to 5. Ryan Comely and Tony Comely were the first two players out once the final seven sat down, though I missed the action while getting photos. I also missed getting a picture of Tony (I added one that I took earlier in the week in Event #8), but the other 6 players to make the final 7 are below.

  • From 10 to 7 in One Hand

    Level:18 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:7/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

It was a crazy few minutes as three players busted at the same time to bring the game from he final table bubble to 7 handed. On one table, Josie Brown and Nathan Masih hit the rail on the same hand when Nathanael Habte hit a club flush, while at the same time on the other table, Khang Luong was heading out the door as well.

Luong and Masih chopped 10th and 9th places tonight while Brown grabbed 8th.

  • Masson Bubbles, McNeely Min-Cashes

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:11/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

The bubble is over after more than a level at hand-for-hand. Tony Comely sent two players to the rail on the same hand when he turned the nut club flush, sending Sam Masson home on the bubble and Wilfred McNeely home with a min-cash.

  • Luong Triples to Survive

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:13/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Khan Luong was all in from the small blind with big stacks Colten Yamagishi and Stefan Maloney still in action. I picked up the action on the turn with the board reading 103A8 and Maloney check-called a bet for 60k. Both players checked the K river and Yamagishi’s AQ82 took the side pot with two pair, but Luong’s set of tens won the main pot to keep him alive.

  • Masson Chops to Survive on Bubble

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:13/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Josie Brown limped the hijack before Sam Masson potted to 25k from the button, leaving just 2k behind. It folded around to Brown who raised to put Masson all in and he called it off.

They were basically playing the same hand with Brown on AKQ4 against AKQ5 for Masson. Brown hit her four on the 1046 flop, but when the board ran out JQ they both went to Broadway and chopped it up.

  • Yamagishi Still Leading on the Bubble

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:13/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

They are on the bubble as Level 15 ends and Colten Yamagishi is still leading with almost 900k. Stefan Maloney is second with 628k. The clock is now paused for hand-for-hand play and it will start back up again after the next elimination.

  • Yamagishi, Maloney Leading on Soft Bubble

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:14/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

Colten Yamagishi is still leading the way and he’s now chipped up to around 800k. Meanwhile, across the table, the NLH/PLO Mix winner Stefan Maloney looks to be second with close to 600k.

There are 14 players left in the action now and they’ll pause the clock for hand-for-hand play after the next elimination.

  • Yamagishi Turns It

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:16/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

In the final hand of the previous level, Ryan Comely opened to 7k from the cutoff and got calls from Colten Yamagishi on the button and Khang Luong in the big blind. The flop was 873 and, after a check from Luong, Comely fired 20k.

Yamagishi called while Luong folded. The turn 9 brought a bet of 50k from Comely which Yamagishi called. They both checked the [/pcn]Qd[/pcn] river and Yamagishi took it down with 10998 for the turned set.

  • Final Two Tables 6 Off the Money

    Level:12 (15008/2500/2500)
    Entries:18/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

They are down to 18 players left now on the final two tables. That puts them 6 eliminations off the money spots tonight. Below is a look at the final 18 players in the PLO Bounty. I don’t have a handle on all the chip counts right now, but Colten Yamagishi is the runaway leader at the moment with more than 600k in front of him.

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:40/96
    Prizes:$36,480 ($26,880 prizes, $9,600 bounties)

Nicholas Milkovich potted to 3.5k under the gun and Pete Fylyma called from his left, as did David Cox in the big blind. Milkovich checked the 9K10 flop and Fylyma fired 10k. Cox called while Milkovich mucked his hand.

Both remaining players checked it down through the AJ runout and Fylyma showed pocket tens for a flopped set, but it was no good against the rivered straight for Cox with ling-eight-seven-four.

  • Cox Takes One on Turn

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:42/89
    Prizes:$33,820 ($24,920 prizes, $8,900 bounties)

The flop of J29 was already out when I arrived at the table with 5 players in the hand. It checked around to David Cox on the button and he potted for 10.8k. Garry Sandhu (UTG+1) was the only caller with three players sending their cards to the muck.

The turn came 4 and Sandhu check-folded to the shove from Cox.

  • Boat over Boat Sends McNeely to Rail

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:44/87
    Prizes:$33,060 ($24,360 prizes, $8,700 bounties)

The board was already out reading 2298A when I arrived at the table. Wilfred McNeely bet 8k before Brad German bumped it up to 30k. McNeely reraised all in and got the snap call from German, and it was a PLO cooler.

German flopped the boat with nine-nine-six-three against the turned smaller boat for McNeely with queen-eight-eight-eight-five.

Levels will be 25 minutes long throughout the event (15 minutes in heads up) and they’ll have 9 levels to enter the game. Including breaks, that should put the last chance to enter at about 7:15 PM.

    Entries:2/111
    Prizes:$42,180 ($31,080 prizes, $11,100 bounties)

The tournament was about to move into the Poker room, so I packed up and moved over a little early. That was a bad move as Stefan Maloney hit the rail just before the end of the level for 3rd place and I missed the hand.

  • Tarasoff Doubles to the Lead

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)

They are down to 26 players left in the PLO Bounty now on the final three tables. There are about 15 minutes to play in Level 11.

  • Quick Action After Dinner
